How To Replace An ATV CV Joint

Squirt grease into the hole where the shaft will be placed (cut a corner of the grease packet and squeeze). Fill the outer CV joint with the grease, and put some on the "C" clip on the shaft. Set the axle nut halfway onto the threads and gently tap the joint back into place on the shaft. If it doesn't slide on easily, use a screw driver to tap the clip until it is no longer exposed. The joint should go right on.

Lather the top of the joint where it meets the shaft using the remaining grease. Slide the boot down and clamp the large clamp. Use a screw driver to release any trapped air or suction pressure between the end of the boot and the shaft. Now put on the small clamp.
